They were right! The END IS IN SIGHT!!!!!!!

this morning i took a long walk and happened to walk near by a small christian church.
and i could see them come out of the building after their meeting.
they were all dressed differently, some in clean sunday clothes, some in clean jeans, but no one in a suit like the jw's do.
JH,
I was a kid in the sixties and my favorite show was The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Do you know that one? The two head spies always wore suits and looked so cool. I aspired to look as cool as they did and so I enjoyed a nice, well pressed suit. Of course I wasn't doing any substantial spying. Now I have no reason to wear one. Still like getting dressed up when I do. The bad part was being compelled to do it three times a week and more as a pioneer. UGH.

anyone out there have any personal experience with this?
just looking for input and suggestions.
Yeah, I break into an uncontrollable panic and sweat like crazy when I get near those sweaters!
Oh, crap, sorry, I'm thinking of "Angora-phobia".
Sorry.

i used to feel it was the catholic religion because of all its rituals.
then i felt it was the latter day saints with all thier "personal testimony" and "prophet" doctrines.
finally, after reading about the watchtower's history i've settled on the view that they are all equal.. how did you feel about it when you were a witnoid?.

i won't use the word "hate", but were there some in your congregation that you just couldn't get along with?.
i recall a brother in my congregation, he was single about 50 years old, and he never smiled, and seemed very rigid and he loved to criticize and say the opposite of everything i would say, when we talked together.. i went to the mall a few weeks ago, and came face to face with him, and he totally ignored me.
so, then i thought to myself, that maybe he is dfd.
There was a brother who was a super zealot. He got angry at me because I took the side of the householder on a complaint she made against him. He was doing street work in front of her house because the High School was across the street. He was handing out some kingdom news thing and the kids were dropping them on the ground only a few feet away from him. He didn't pick them up. He felt he was really spreading seeds of truth. Of course, the lady's bushes were filling up with these things and they were all over her property and then the wind sent them down the street. She called the Hall to complain and I took the call. I went to him to encourage him to stop and he kicked me out of his house for taking the side of the worldly person over a brother.
What an ass he was. Karma came down on him hard, he had cancer but survived. Must have been all that self righteousness made him sick too finally.
What a pill.

i know the pat answer is "grieving the holy spirit" but how does one do that?
i asked some elders who were attempting to meet with me but they seemed unsure... .
publicly!
Here's the offical word from God's spokesman on the subject:
*** it-1 p. 862 Forgiveness ***
However, there is “a sin that does incur death,” sin against the holy spirit, a deliberate practice of sin for which there is no forgiveness
it-2 pp. 968-969 Sin, I ***
What is unforgivable sin?
Knowledge brings greater responsibility. Pilate’s sin was not as great as that of the Jewish religious leaders who turned Jesus over to the governor, nor that of Judas, who betrayed his Lord. (Joh 19:11; 17:12) Jesus told Pharisees of his day that if they were blind, they would have no sin, evidently meaning that their sins could be forgiven by God on the basis of their ignorance; however, because they denied being in ignorance, ‘their sin remained.’ (Joh 9:39-41) Jesus said they had “no excuse for their sin” because they were witnesses of the powerful words and works proceeding from him as the result of God’s spirit on him. (Joh 15:22-24; Lu 4:18) Those who, either in word or by their course of action, willfully and knowingly blasphemed God’s spirit thus manifested would be “guilty of everlasting sin,” with no forgiveness possible. (Mt 12:31, 32; Mr 3:28-30; compare Joh 15:26; 16:7, 8.) This could be the case with some who came to be Christians and then deliberately turned from God’s pure worship. Hebrews 10:26, 27 states that “if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left, but there is a certain fearful expectation of judgment and there is a fiery jealousy that is going to consume those in opposition.”
At 1 John 5:16, 17, John evidently refers to willful, knowing sin in speaking of “a sin that does incur death” as contrasted with one that does not. (Compare Nu 15:30.) Where the evidence indicates such willful, knowing sin, the Christian would not pray for the one so offending. God, of course, is the final Judge as to the heart attitude of the sinner.—Compare Jer 7:16; Mt 5:44; Ac 7:60.
Go my son and sin some more.

yesterday, i was mowing the lawn, and i had my cell phone on me.
it was in it's case and hooked on to me.. for some reason, it fell to the ground, and i was mowing the lawn walking backwards, and all of a sudden....i heard this loud noise under the lawnmower as if it was chewing something very hard.
so, i backed up the lawnmower another foot or so to see what was under the lawnmower.
Well, I guess when your phone's number is up, thats it then.

"i heard from ones that had gone to the convention that our time before tribulation is miniscule.
i am scared.
i know it must be true.
My response to the latest e-mail from the panic'd sister who sent the initial e-mail... She said she didn't realize I felt this way "all along". I haven't always felt this way, its because I opened my eyes and allowed reason to have a chance. The "obedient no matter what" mentality has given way to a firm belief in the words of David: "Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs" (Psalm 146:3) Those come from Jehovah too. Your salvation does not belong to any man. Its all up to you. If this is what you feel you need to do to get saved, ok, more power to you. Just tell someone objective that you belong to a religion founded by a guy who arrived at prophetic dates from the measurements of the steps of the great pyramid at Giza and taught that Jesus returned in 1874 and see if they see it the way you do. Then tell them that his successor had a mansion in San Diego built and deeded to the prophets of old for 1925 when they would be resurrected to rule the world when God was planning to destroy the churches and all government and see if they don't clamour to join you. (Of course you shouldn't mention that he lived there as his primary residence and drove two huge expensive caddilacs. That might prejudice them.) Don't forget the successful hubub about 1975 and the "reasonable conclusion" that the end should come by then. Then tell them that the same group of men is announcing that deliverance is at hand! Why do you think that the District Convention attenders got the idea that the time is so "miniscule" before the end? Is it thier idea or "nobles and the son of earthling man" feeding the hype? Here we go again. This is all fleshly thinking. We can spiritualize it I suppose and then it doesn't count any more. They are guided by Holy Spirit, its just that they are human and make mistakes. So, that means that Holy Spirit can guide them, it just can't get them to get it right? No other religion is allowed to make mistakes? I get it, the other religions make mistakes because Satan is directing them, Jehovah's people make them because Holy Spirit is directing them so that's ok? "name", its all folly. No amount of sincerity will change reality. I would rather leave it alone than play the game. I appreciate honesty and the whole thing stinks of "man" and untrustworthiness from this aspect.
how important is it for you to be certain about something before you act on it?
example: certain about the watchtower having the truth.
then certain that they don't have the truth.
Knew that HS wasn't appointing men in the Org long ago, when a kid. Bad apples abounded, even in the sixties. Then when I was back in the fold after 11 years inactive I saw evidence again that it was not spirit directed when I was appointed and dealt with men who were frustrated little men with unhappy wives and never practiced anything they preached. When the PO said to me, "Even if this isn't the Truth, its the best way to live and I'd do it anyway." The same Elder told me he hated the ministry, he liked giving talks from the platform. Whoa! I always thought it was the ministry that was the main thrust of our whole lives. At the District Convention they lied from the platform about my being a faithful servent for twenty odd years as they introduced my talk, (despite my telling them not to lie to the audience, I had been inactive more than half of the time and hardly faithful all the while), I was livid. That did it for me, it was downhill all the way, deleted self as elder and then did the big fade. Don't exist now.
Oh, what peace.

1 thessalonians 5:1-11 .
5 now as for the times and the seasons, brothers, you need nothing to be written to you.
2 for you yourselves know quite well that jehovahs day is coming exactly as a thief in the night.
Sherwood,
The peace in the middle east is an astounding fulfillment of this prophecy! In Africa we see peace as never before. You are so "spiritual" you can't see the physical reality in your face. Keep on spreading the love Sherwood ol'boy. That's what God is all about, right? Here's an overview of our peaceful world.
Tell it to the people trying to stay alive in these countrys where many of the battles are fueled by people who put the emphasis on the spiritual and I'll wait for the Peace and Security announcement that is just on the brink of being announced.
Idiotic.
